What is a Financial Management Service?
You will use a Financial Management Service (FMS) to pay for services through the SElf Determination Program. The FMS pays the bills for your services, provides you with a monthly statement, and more.
How do I get a background check?
All direct caregivers receiving payment, including a client's family members, will require a criminal background check. When obtaining the proper forms and applications from the FMS, the caregiver (applicant) will need to pay for the cost of the background check.
